The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) MIMAROPA is encouraging Filipinos to download the eGov app, a newly launched platform designed to streamline access to essential government services.
“The app aims to provide a one-stop hub for various government transactions, making it easier and more convenient for citizens to avail themselves of services ranging from social welfare benefits to business registration,” said Regional Director Emmy Lou V. Delfin during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, November 19.
Delfin emphasized that the app is part of the government’s ongoing digital transformation efforts, which aim to reduce red tape, improve service efficiency, and enhance accessibility for Filipinos, especially those in remote areas.
“We are committed to making government services more accessible to everyone, and the eGov app is a significant step in that direction,” said Delfin.
The eGov app allows users to access a wide range of government services, such as applying for permits, paying taxes, and checking the status of government applications. It also features a directory of government agencies, which can help citizens find the specific services they need more easily.
The DICT highlighted that the app is part of the government’s broader agenda to promote digitalization, which seeks to create a more efficient and citizen-friendly public service system.
The initiative also supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s administration goal of reducing face-to-face transactions and physical documentation, in line with the continued push for digital government services.
“The eGov app is a key tool in advancing our vision of a digital government that provides seamless, accessible, and secure services to Filipinos across the country,” Delfin added.
The app, available for both Android and iOS devices, has already been downloaded by thousands of Filipino users since its launch.
The DICT also promised continued updates and improvements to the platform to ensure that it remains user-friendly and able to accommodate additional government services in the future. (AS/PIA MIMAROPA)
