Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, head of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, lauded local authorities and the Department of Health (DOH) for the successful groundbreaking of the Super Health Center in Barangay Mahaba last month.
In his speech, Go emphasized the importance of establishing Super Health Centers nationwide, particularly in underserved areas, to enhance public health services at the community level. He highlighted that these centers are crucial in bridging the gap between the government and the Filipino people.
Go noted that through collective efforts with fellow lawmakers, sufficient funds have been allocated for the construction of over 700 Super Health Centers. The DOH, under Secretary Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa, leads the implementation and identifies strategic locations for these centers. In Romblon, five Super Health Centers have been funded.
During the event, Go’s Malasakit Team distributed grocery packs, sports equipment, and shirts to 50 barangay health workers, acknowledging their role as community health frontliners.
Go also offered assistance to residents with medical concerns, advising them to seek help from the Malasakit Center at the Romblon Provincial Hospital in Odiongan.
