The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) MIMAROPA awarded land titles to 166 residents of Odiongan, Romblon, as part of its Handog Titulo Program sa Mamamayan, a program aimed at expediting the issuance of land titles to qualified beneficiaries.
DENR MIMAROPA Regional Executive Director Felix Mirasol Jr., together with Congressman Eleandro Madrona, Vice Governor Armando Gutierrez, Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic, and Atty. Renie Catajay of the Registry of Deeds, led the distribution of the free patents during a ceremony at Odiongan Public Plaza on Thursday.
According to DENR Romblon spokesperson Eunice May Cacabelos, out of the 166 distributed patents, 87 were for residential lands, and 79 were for agricultural lands.
Additionally, the DENR MIMAROPA awarded 11 special patents to six national government agencies and five public schools across various towns in the province.
The Handog Titulo Program is part of the government’s goal to formalize land ownership across the country, creating a more secure and equitable environment for citizens and supporting sustainable economic growth in rural areas.
