Humingi ng paumanhin ang caterer sa ginanap na orientation para sa mga mga bagong legislators sa Hotel Lucky Chinatown, Manila matapos manakit ang tiyan ng mga konsehal na dumalo sa event.
Ayon sa isang liham mula sa may-ari ng Raintree Catering, sinabi nilang humihingi sila ng apology dahil sa insidente at nangako na hindi na ito mauulit.
“I am writing to offer my sincerest apology to you for the incident that happened on the evening of September 23. I understand a number of guests attending the dinner experienced upset stomachs and other related symptoms after the dinner. I know this caused great discomfornt and inconvenience and I would like to apoligize to you, whether you were affected directly or indirectly,” laman ng liham.
“As the food service provider, we take responsibility for this unfortunate incident. It is unacceptable that it happened and I want to give you my assurance that we have taken extra measures to ensure this doest not happen again for the remainder of your meeting. We are exerting all efforts to meticously monitor food preparation and handling of the items that we are serving over the next few days to make sure that food is safe and up to the standards that you and we would expect,” dagdag pa ng liham.
“Again I would like to offer my most humble apology for the incident and would like to thank you for your patience and understanding,” panghuling laman ng sulat.
Ayon sa isa sa mga konsehal na nakausap ng Romblon News Network, bandang alas-3 ng umaga kanina ng manakit ang kanyang tiyan ganun rin ng kanyang mga kasama sa kwarto at iba pang konsehal na dumalo sa nasabing pagtitipon.
Isang konsehal rin ang isinugod pa sa ospital matapos mamilipit sa sakit pero nakalabas rin ng ospital kinalaunan.
