The Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Romblon hosted the Division Stakeholder’s Convergence at Romblon West Central School on December 5, fostering partnerships between DepEd, local government units, and other stakeholders.
The program highlighted the importance of sustaining programs and projects that directly benefit learners and the community. It emphasized collaborative decision-making between schools and local government units, with the PTA playing an integral role in achieving school objectives. A GAP analysis was presented, outlining the strengths and challenges of schools under DepEd Romblon.
The event also showcased significant contributions and initiatives to support education.
The municipal government of Romblon donated land for educational purposes, formalized through the signing of a Deed of Donation. Congressman Eleandro Jesus F. Madrona provided ₱2.6 million to support the division’s robotics program and allocated an additional ₱40 million for the construction of school buildings and covered courts. Meanwhile, the municipal government of Odiongan delivered ₱6 million worth of school supplies for learners.
Support for Special Needs Education (SNED) was also a focal point, with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) donating TV sets and committing ₱20 million to enhance SNED schools. Additionally, the office of the governor announced a ₱10 million budget allocation for construction materials to be utilized in the next school year.
The convergence underscored the shared commitment of DepEd Romblon and its partners to improving the quality of education and ensuring that learners benefit from sustained and meaningful programs.
