The Romblon State University (RSU) and the Provincial Government of Romblon are working together to establish the Romblon Provincial Community Sports and Wellness Tourism Council, aiming to enhance various sports programs and promote sports tourism in the province.
During a multi-sectoral consultative and capacity-building workshop held at RSU, Romblon Governor Jose Riano expressed his full support for the initiative, committing 100% backing to strengthen sports and wellness activities in the province.
The program, named Multi-Sectoral Consultative and Capacity-Building Workshop on Community Sports and Wellness Program, is expected to receive funding from the P20 million Community Sports and Wellness Grant from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This initiative seeks to promote community engagement, encourage healthy lifestyles, and position Romblon as a hub for sports tourism.
Governor Riano emphasized that the initiative marks a significant step toward building an inclusive and sustainable sports and wellness ecosystem that will benefit future generations. He also highlighted that the project aligns with his administration’s commitment to holistic development in Romblon.
“This landmark initiative represents a pivotal moment in our collective journey toward establishing a robust, inclusive, and sustainable sports and wellness ecosystem that will benefit generations to come.
