Isang Romblomanon ang nakaligtas mula sa nag-colapse na tulay sa Yilan, Taiwan noong nakaraang Martes.
Kwento ni John Vicente Royo sa Channel News Asia, nakatalon agad siya mula sa deck ng kanilang fishing boat kaya nakaligtas siya sa aksidente kahit nagtamo ng sugat sa katawan.
“I heard loud noises above me coming from the bridge when I was working on the deck. The bridge started to collapse and I ran to the back of the ship and jumped into the water to be pulled up later by another boat in the area,” ayon kay Royo.
Aniya, napakabilis ng pangyayari, at lahat sila ay takot na takot pag-ahon sa tubig.
“Even though I am lucky to be alive, I have co-workers who have died and a friend who is traumatized to the point he is still unable to speak,” he said. Miswan suffered gashes to his back.
Si Royo ay kabilang sa limang Pinoy na nasaktan sa aksidente, habang 2 naman ang kinumpirma ng Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) na namatay sa aksidente.
Patuloy na iniimbestigahan ng gobyerno ng Taiwan ang nasabing insidente.
