Twenty-one free Wifi sites in the province of Romblon were launched recently by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
In an interview with PIA Romblon, Engr. Samson Moscoso Jr., Project Development Officer II of DICT Romblon, said that all campuses of Romblon State University were now Free WiFi for All (FW4A) sites, including campuses in Geographically-Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas or GIDA.
Other sites were: DICT Provincial Office, Romblon Provincial Hospital, Romblon National Institute of Technology, Provincial Capitol of Romblon, Romblon District Hospital, Municipal Plaza of San Fernando, San Jose District Hospital, Odiongan National High School (NHS), Mayha NHS, Libertad NHS, Romblon NHS and Agnipa NHS.
The FW4A aims to give Filipinos free internet connectivity, providing the locals access to a broader range of information and services.
DICT has been activating wifi hotspots within the said locations since last year.
The DICT continuously implements the Free Wi-Fi for All Program in different regions nationwide to bolster the country’s recovery and transition to the new normal.
