The trough of tropical depression “Nimfa” will bring scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms in the regions of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, and the Cordillera on Thursday.
At 3 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration spotted ‘Nimfa’ at 785 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and up to 70 kph. It is slowly moving northeast.
Central Luzon will have rains brought by the southwest monsoon (habagat) which is also affecting Southern Luzon and Western Visayas. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will experience occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon.
Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
