The newly appointed Regional Director of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA on Monday officially assumed office last Monday, October 21, following a Change of Command Ceremony at the Camp Efigenio C Navarro in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
PBGen Nicerio Demol Obaob, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1988 who was previously assigned as the Deputy Regional Director for Administration in PRO 5, replaced PBGen Tomas Colet Apolinario Jr.
During the ceremony, PBGen Apolinario Jr. performed his last trooping of the line in his honor, and was accorded the award of Medalya ng Katapatan sa Paglilingkod (PNP Distinguished Service Medal), bespeaking of his outstanding accomplishment to the region of MIMAROPA in the areas of Crime Reduction, Ending Communist Armed Conflict, Campaign against Illegal Drugs and Internal Cleansing.
In his speech, he mentioned his best practices implemented during his stint as Regional Director that greatly contributed to the well being of PNP personnel, to cite; the creation of the Balay Lakoy Officers Lounge, a 5-star lounge for visitors showcasing MIMAROPA arts and crafts, the PRO MIMAROPA Adoration Room, a prayer room created just beside the St Michael the Archangel Chapel of PRO MIMAROPA to amplify the personnel’s connection with God, the PRO MIMAROPA Young Eco Warriors Child Development Center, a preschool learning center for PNP working with kids, and lastly, the implementation of Camp Efigenio C Navaro’s Camp Modernization Plan that is working on progress with perimeter concrete fencing and road construction already noticeable within the camp.
Meanwhile, PBGen Obaob in his acceptance speech, commit to sustain and even surpass the accomplishments of his predecessor, and likewise to focus on the directives of PNP OIC Chief PLTGen. Archie Francisco Gamboa.
