The second leg of the MIMAROPA ASEAN Advocacy Series goes to Romblon following the region’s soft launching in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro last month.
The advocacy aims to generate awareness and appreciation of ASEAN to enable the ordinary citizens to prepare and tap on the opportunities that ASEAN brings under the motto “One Vision, One Identity, One Community.”
A forum for college students dubbed “All about ASEAN” will be conducted on March 14 at the Odiongan Campus of Romblon State University where a Resource Person from the Philippine Information Agency will share information about ASEAN and, importantly, how the students should prepare to compete globally with the rest of southeast Asians under an integrated community.

Another forum on “ASEAN: A Community of Opportunities” is scheduled to be held at the Odiongan Covered Court where participants coming from local government units, private sector and people’s organizations are expected to attend.
There will also be the launching of the PIA Kiosk, a corner at the Municipal Hall where people can avail of and watch different information materials produced by local and national government agencies.
The Romblon ASEAN Advocacy activities will be led by Director-General Harold E. Clavite of the Philippine Information Agency. (VSM/PIA-Mimaropa)
