Young individuals with disabilities showcased their talents and abilities during the Ambilympics organized by the local government of Odiongan, in collaboration with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office and the Department of Education.
Carrying the theme “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines!”, the event was a great success, highlighting the potential of differently-abled youth.
Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic attended the event, delivering a message and engaging with the children. Participants included students from the Special Needs Education (SNED) programs of Odiongan North Central Elementary School, Odiongan South Central Elementary School, and Odiongan National High School, along with their teachers.
The event featured various activities such as fashion shows, flower arrangement, drawing and painting, hair and makeup, cooking contests, darts, chess, draw & tell, coloring, and singing contests.
According to the Odiongan Public Information Office, the program was funded by the Municipal Council For the Protection of Children.
