The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Romblon District Engineering Office (DEO) has successfully completed the Phase II construction of the seawall and causeway project in the coastal area of Barangay Poblacion, Cajidiocan.
Romblon District Engineer Elena Castilan reported to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan that the project spans 146 linear meters and includes a 100 mm thick sidewalk equipped with solar LED street lights. The seawall not only enhances the safety and security of coastal residents but also serves as an essential roadway for travelers in the area.
This infrastructure aims to protect the community from potential coastal hazards while improving connectivity and accessibility. Additionally, the solar-powered street lights ensure energy-efficient illumination, promoting sustainability.
