The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA distributed a total of P11,070,000 in livelihood assistance to 738 households across Romblon from July 9 to 12 under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
SLP Coordinator Gare Gaa noted that the beneficiaries hail from the towns of Corcuera, Magdiwang, Cajidiocan, San Fernando, Concepcion, Romblon, and Santa Fe.
Each household received P15,000 in cash, aimed at starting or improving their chosen livelihoods. Prior to the payout, participants underwent program orientation and skills training.
The SLP is a capability-building program designed to enhance the skills, experiences, and competencies of participants to establish sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship or employment.
Gaa encouraged the beneficiaries to use the cash they receive in a sustainable manner.
