A total of P2,250,000 in livelihood assistance was distributed to 150 participants of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA on July 8, at the Corcuera Gymnasium in Corcuera, Romblon.
Each qualified participant received P15,000 aimed at starting or improving their chosen livelihoods. Prior to the payout, they underwent program orientation and skills training.
The distribution event was led by SLP staff from the Regional Program Management Office and Provincial Office, in collaboration with Corcuera Mayor Elmer Fruelda, Vice Mayor Aubrey Fondevilla, and Political Affairs Officers Charlon Valerio and Ernest Nacion from the offices of Senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano.
The SLP is a capability-building program designed to enhance the skills, experiences, and competencies of participants to establish sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship or employment.
