Alcantara Cable TV Corporation and the Department of Education- Romblon recently signed a memorandum of agreement in support to the department’s efforts to continue delivering its services amidst the global pandemic.
This partnership is a way to boost the capacity of the division in providing learning opportunities among learners of Alcantara and Looc to ensure that students from these areas will continue to have access to quality education as face-to-face classes remained postponed in the coming school year.
Provisions highlighted by the agreement include allotting eight (8) hours of airtime everyday from Monday to Friday for the programs of the division so as to cover all the most essential learning competencies. An additional channel will be provided if the need arises.
“As the Department of Education recommends the use of available media, such as television and radio, to facilitate distance learning, we are grateful to Alcantara Cable Corporation for collaborating with us in ensuring and promoting access to quality education through this multimedia platform.”, SDS Servando said.
For her part, Alcantara Cable TV Corporation Chief Executive Officer Ma. Gina Pador said: “Our company accept this as a gesture of cooperation, a true partnership, and also as a challenge for the future. Our network will be ready, so if and when another crisis occurs, we will be side by side with the DepEd in contributing solutions in delivering quality education to learners.
