Eight provincial officials from the province of Romblon have officially joined the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Auxiliary, further strengthening maritime volunteerism in the region.
The induction ceremony took place during the 42nd Founding Anniversary of the Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog on March 21.
Among the newly sworn-in auxiliary officers is Governor Jose Riano, who took the rank of Auxiliary Captain. He is joined by Vice Governor Armando Gutierrez, Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) member Rubelyn Solis, SP Ma. Rhosarean Solis, SP Milo Maulion, SP Danilo Fabiala Jr., and SP Ireen Roa, all of whom now hold the rank of Auxiliary Commander.
Additionally, SP Brosh Stevan Malay has been assigned as Auxiliary Lieutenant Junior Grade, while Engr. Roger Fodra Jr. has been designated as Auxiliary Lieutenant.
Mayor Gard Montojo was appointed as the Squadron Commander of the 507th Squadron Unit, assuming a key leadership role in the group.
The group was accompanied by Congressman Eleandro Madrona, who serves as an Auxiliary Commodore in the PCG Auxiliary District Southern Tagalog.
According to the Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog, these officials will play an essential role in assisting the PCG through volunteer efforts, maritime support, and community engagement to enhance safety and security along the province’s coastal areas.
The PCG Auxiliary is a volunteer organization that supports the Philippine Coast Guard in its humanitarian, environmental, and maritime safety missions. Members from various sectors, including local government officials, help expand the agency’s reach in protecting coastal communities.
