The House of Representatives impeached Vice President Sara Duterte on the last day of its session on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
House of Representatives Secretary General Reginald Velasco announced during the session that 215 House members had sworn before him to impeach Duterte. Under the law, only 101 lawmakers are required for the House to endorse the impeachment complaint to the Senate, where she will face trial.
Duterte is facing three impeachment complaints, including allegations of misuse of public funds, culpable violation of the Constitution, and betrayal of public trust.
