The province of Oriental Mindoro joined the other 81 provinces in the country for the simultaneous distribution of government assistance nationwide today, September 13.
Dubbed as “Handog ng Pangulo Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat,” the activity forms part of the 67th birthday celebration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr., which highlighted various projects of the national government.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) MIMAROPA conducted payout worth P2,547,750 for 430 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries.
Vincent Rayos, 27 years old and one of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries who received P5,925 from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) MIMAROPA, said that the assistance is a big help as he will be able to buy food for his family.
“Malaking tulong po itong aking natanggap sa pang araw-araw na pagkain ng aming pamilya. Nagpapasalamat po ako sa DOLE,” he said.
Moreover, DOLE also distributed livelihood assistance worth P1,056,938 for the Pamayanang Wawa sa mga Mangingisda.
The Department of Agriculture (DA) MIMAROPA also distributed agricultural inputs worth P4,048,330 to 46 oil-spill affected fisherfolk in the towns of Naujan, Baco and Calapan City. Also, over P600K worth of livelihood inputs were given to 25 fisherfolk associations in the province from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) MIMAROPA.
William Osorio, 54 years old and president of the Samahang Mangingisda ng Gutad, said that he is grateful for the assistance given to them by DA.
“Malaking katulungan po ito para sa amin lalo na’t kami ay talagang naapektuhan ng oil-spill noong nakaraang taon. Ito pong tulong mula sa DA ay makakatulong sa 130 members ng aming asosasyon,” he said.
Meanwhile, some 200 scholars in the province received training support funds worth P828,560 and tech-voc scholarship grants worth P10,847,100 from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Governor Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor expressed his full support for all national government undertakings.
He said “Binigay ng Diyos ang araw na ito para icelebrate ang kaarawan ng Pangulo ng Pilipinas Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ R. Marcos Jr. at ang dala ng kaarawan na to ay biyaya sa mga Mindoreño sa pamamagitan ng mga programa at serbisyo ng national government agencies.” (AS/PIA MIMAROPA-Oriental Mindoro)
