Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes led the inauguration and turnover ceremony of the Pandan Communal Irrigation System-Solar Pump Irrigation Project (CIS-SPIP) on Tuesday, in Brgy. Pandan, Sta. Fe, Romblon.
This project, implemented under the Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) program, aims to provide irrigation services to 10 hectares of farmland, benefiting 22 farmers from the Pandan Irrigators Association.
The project involved the installation of various components, including solar panels, a water tank, control panel house, drain box, valve box, pedestal for solar mounting, and a 2″ diameter HDPE pipeline.
During the ceremony, Acting Regional Manager Cervantes emphasized the essential role of the Irrigators Association (IA) in ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of the project. He urged them to adhere to the rules and regulations implemented by the IA.
Pandan IA President Melsie D. Conching expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the project, emphasizing that it brought significant benefits without incurring any expenses. She added, “Ito ay napakagandang project kasi walang gastos.”
Also present during the event were MOMARO IMO Division Manager Gerardo R. Perez, Romblon Provincial Irrigation Officer-in-Charge (PIO) Leonora C. Calusin, Senior Engineer Daniel Angelo M. Malabanan, Institutional Development Program (IDP) implementers, Barangay Captain Hon. Joey C. Rufon, IA President Melsie D. Conching, LGU Representatives Ruth V. Gallos, and Pastor Paulo Rufon.
A similar project was also inaugurated in San Andres, Romblon on July 4.
