At least 300 food packs worth of P150,000 were distributed to 300 residents of Barangay Victoria, San Andres over the weekend as part of Romblon Police Provincial Office’s Serbisyong Pulis sa Barangay program.
The program is in line with the attainment of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Peace and Security Framework “M+K+K=K” or Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan Tungo sa Kaunlaran; and “Kasimbayanan” or Kapulisan, Simbahan, at Pamayanan.
The 15-day Serbisyong Pulis sa Barangay, with a theme “Kapulisan ay Kaagapay niyo tungo sa Payak, Tahimik at Maunlad na Pamumuhay”, was initated by PLTCol. the Winnerio Paguia Jr of Romblon Provincial Mobile Force Company.
PNP also donated ten baton, three solar lights, five hand cuff, five whistle, 12 hand held radio, and 20 Rhode Island red chicks to the barangay.
A medical mission was also held during the activity.
Congressman Eleandro Madrona graced the event together with Police Col. Jonathan Paguio of Romblon Police Provincial Office, Municipal Mayor Arsenio Gadon of San Andres, Romblon, official of the Provincial Gov’t, personnel from San Andres Andres Municipal Police Station; Provincial Social Welfare Development (DSWD); Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO); Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE); Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Agriculture (DA), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), Provincial Health Office (PHO), LGU-San Andres; Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), Sangguniang Bayan (SB) and Kabataan (SK) members of the town.
In a statement, Romblon Police Provincial Office said that the activity aims to “dispense their basic services in the barangay at the doorstep of the constituents and the indigent families living in far-flung areas. Also, endeavours to develop and nurture the barangay to become a stable and resilient community against any influence of the CTGs.”
