The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 in the whole province of Romblon on Friday due to Tropical Storm Paeng as it slightly intensifies.
The center of the storm as of 4 A.M. was last seen near 410 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, and moving west-northwestward at 15 km/h.
It has maximum sustained wind of 75km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90km/h.
While on Signal No. 1, Pagasa says Romblon will experience strong winds for at least 36 hours.
The province will experience today through Sunday moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.
Also on Signal No. 1 are the provinces of Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, Camarines Norte, the rest of Camarines Sur, Marinduque, Quezon including Pollilo Islands, Laguna, Rizal, Samar, the rest of Eastern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and the northern portion of Cebu (Daanbantayan, Medellin, San Remigio, Tabogon, City of Bogo, Borbon) including Bantayan and Camotes Islands.
Signal No. 2 was raised over Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and the eastern portion of Camarines Sur (Caramoan, Garchitorena, Presentacion, Lagonoy, Goa, San Jose, Tigaon, Iriga City, Saglay, Buhi), Northern Samar and the northern portion of Eastern Samar (Jipapad, Arteche, Oras, San Policarpo, Maslog, Dolores, Can-Avid, Taft).
Meanwhile, as part of Philippine Coast Guard’s disaster preparedness, all trips to and from all ports of Romblon is suspended starting morning of Friday.
Several towns also declared suspension of classes and work in government offices.
