Six towns in the province of Romblon are currently under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 as Tropical Storm Paeng slowly moves westward over the Philippine Sea.
These are the towns of Cajidiocan, San Fernando, Magdiwang, Romblon, Banton, and Corcuera.
” Strong winds may be experienced within any of the areas where Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is hoisted throughout the entire passage of PAENG,” according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The eye of #PaengPH was last seen near 485km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar has a maximum sustained winds of 65km/h near the center, and gustiness of up to 80km/h.
Pagasa forecasts that Romblon including provinces in the Mimaropa region may experience light to moderate with at times heavy rains from early morning through evening tomorrow.
Tomorrow evening through Saturday, Romblon will experience moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.
“Under these conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are expected, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps and in localities with significant antecedent rainfall,” according to Pagasa.
