Covid-19 vaccines developed by British-Swede pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca arrived in Romblon province by boat early Sunday morning.
It was accepted by the staff of the Department of Health and the Romblon Provincial Hospital.
According to the Department of Health in Mimaropa region, about 280 vials of Covid-19 vaccines were delivered.
The vaccines was transported from the port directly to the cold storage facility of Romblon Provincial Hospital in Odiogan town.
This set of vials from the national government are part of the first round of allocated doses from the Covax facility for the Philippines that arrived last March 4.
The Philippines is expected to receive at least 5.6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca via the Covax facility within the first quarter of 2021.
Last week, about 750 dozes of Covid-19 vaccines from China’s Sinovac also arrived in Romblon.
The latter was used on the launching of Covid-19 vaccination roll-out in the province.
