At least 15 sets of Computers and 2,000 backpacks containing assorted school kits were donated to Romblon province by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) on Friday, November 08.
These materials were formally turned over by Pagcor’s AVP for Corporate Social Responsibility Group Rina Carreon to Romblon Provincial Governor Jose Riano, and to the officials of Department of Education – Division of Romblon (DepEd-Romblon).
In an interview, Governor Jose Riano said that the donated materials will be distributed to twenty four public elementary schools in the entire province thru the help of DepEd-Romblon.
“Maagang pamasko itong binigay ng Pagcor sa ating mga mag-aaral, malaking bagay ito lalo na sa mga kababayan nating kapos ang pera pambili ng mga school materials na kailangan ng kanilang mga anak (It was an early Christmas gift for our students, especially for our countrymen who had no money to buy school materials for their children),” the Governor said during his interview with the Romblon News Network.
During their visit in Romblon, Pagcor also formally turned over three buildings to three different elementary schools in the Island of Tablas, Romblon, and Sibuyan.
