More than 500 persons on Sunday joined the R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run spearheaded by the Provincial Government at the capital town of Romblon Province. They were composed of employees from the different government agencies situated in the island, police, firemen, students, teachers, and private individuals.
The R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run is part of the programs prepared by the Provincial Government of Romblon in observance of the 119th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this month.
Beside from the R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run, Civil Service Commission – Romblon (CSC-Romblon) is set to spearhead a simultaneous coastal clean-up drive in the province on Friday, September 6.
Ma. Cristine Ramos, Human Resource Specialist II of CSC-Romblon, said that every agencies in Romblon are required to have a program this month of in observance also of the 2019 Civil Service Month.
“Government agencies need to celebrate this so our employees who are working since the start of the year will have time to relax, and have fun,” Ramos said in an interview with PIA-Romblon.
She also added that Commission partnered with other private sectors to provide special treats for Government as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work.
Some of the special treats were free MRT-3 rides, and discounted fees for hotels, tours, massage, hospital treatments, and entrance fees to leisure parks.
This year’s celeberation has a theme of ‘Civil Service at 119: Upholding Integrity and Building a High-Trust Society’.
