A 59-year-old farmer, alyas G, was arrested over the weekend in Barangay Agnocnoc, Ferrol, Romblon, on homicide charges following a deadly altercation with another farmer last year.
He was apprehended on March 27 after a Warrant of Arrest was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 82.
The incident, which occurred in August of the previous year, began as a heated argument between him and a fellow farmer over an irrigation dispute in their rice fields. According to the police report from the Ferrol Municipal Police Station, he allegedly struck the victim on the head with a stone during the altercation.
The victim’s family later confirmed to Romblon News Network that the victim passed away a few months after the incident.
Mago now faces charges of homicide. A bond of P120,000 has been set for his temporary liberty while the legal process continues.
