Dr. Merian Catajay-Mani will continue to lead Romblon State University (RSU) as its President until 2028 after being reaffirmed for a second term on Wednesday, February 19.
Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson J. Prospero de Vera III administered her oath of office during a ceremony attended by CHED MIMAROPA Regional Director Edna Imelda Fernandez-Legazpi, along with presidents of various state universities and colleges across the Philippines.
In her reaffirmation address, Catajay-Mani emphasized her commitment to expanding RSU’s global presence and fostering international collaborations. She stated that RSU’s mission is to bring the world to the university and to introduce RSU to the world, ensuring that faculty and students actively contribute to and lead global academic discussions.
She expressed gratitude to students, faculty, and stakeholders for their role in shaping RSU’s growth and success.

Meanwhile, PASUC (Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges) President Dr. Tirso Ronquillo, Governor Jose Riano, Congressman Eleandro Madrona, and CHED Chairperson J. Prospero de Vera III each delivered congratulatory messages, pledging their support for RSU’s continued development.
Top officials of Romblon province, local chief executives, RSU faculty and staff, and students also attended the event.
