Romblon State University unveils the WURI 2024 marker at its main campus administration building on Monday.
This achievement commemorates RSU’s inclusion in the 2024 World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) Global Top 300 Innovative Universities, where it ranked 261st among over 1,000 participating institutions worldwide.
RSU President Dr. Merian Catajay-Mani highlighted the importance of the ranking in driving continuous improvement and aligning the university with international standards.
“In our quest for innovation, we have remained steadfast in our dedication to sustainability. Our philosophy of thinking globally and acting locally has been the core principle of our internationalization efforts,” the president said.
During the unveiling ceremony, the university also honored the contributions of individuals who played pivotal roles in achieving this international recognition.
Present also during the unveiling is Congressman Eleandro Madrona and Marinduque State University President Diosdado Zulueta.
Congressman Madrona, author of Republic Act No. 9721, which converted Romblon State College into a state university, expressed pride in the university’s accomplishments. He reflected on his long-standing dream since 1992 to establish a globally recognized institution in Romblon.
