The municipality of Romblon, Romblon, proudly inaugurated its new football field, which meets FIFA standards, on Saturday.
Located within the Romblon National High School compound, the football field features Artificial Turf, giving it a vibrant green appearance similar to natural grass. This is the first Artificial Turf football pitch in the entire MIMAROPA region, according to Romblon Mayor Gerard Montojo.
The inauguration ceremony included a soccer tournament, with players invited from various towns across Romblon.
“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Cong. Atty. Eleandro Jesus F. Madrona. Without his unwavering support, this incredible milestone would not have been possible,” said Mayor Montojo.
“This field represents not just a place to play football, but a symbol of our community’s unity, spirit, and love for the game.”
Mayor Montojo added that the new football field is a dream come true for all Romblomanons.
