The new extension office of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in San Agustin, Romblon, aims to bolster the enforcement of traffic laws across the municipality and surrounding areas.
During the inauguration on Thursday, LTO MIMAROPA Regional Director Eduardo De Guzman emphasized that the primary objective of establishing the new office is to ensure compliance with all traffic rules and regulations.
“The main reason for LTO’s presence in San Agustin is to enforce traffic laws in this municipality and neighboring towns, ensuring road safety,” said De Guzman.
While the new office will provide convenience to residents, De Guzman highlighted that the most important aspect is reducing traffic violations and accidents, particularly those involving unlicensed drivers and unregistered motorcycles.
Following the office’s opening, regular LTO checkpoints are expected to support these efforts further.
De Guzman also expressed gratitude to the municipal government of San Agustin and Congressman Eleandro Madrona for their support in providing a new two-story building and necessary equipment for the office’s operations.
The new office will offer the same services currently available at the LTO District Office in Odiongan, including driver’s license applications, vehicle registration, and other essential LTO services.
