The Department of Social Welfare and Development MIMAROPA recently distributed social pensions to senior citizens who are beneficiaries of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program in the town of Banton, Romblon.
A total of 684 indigent senior citizens from Banton received Php 3,000.00 each as a stipend for the third quarter of the year, amounting to a total disbursement of Php 2,052,000.00.
The distribution activity was led by the Social Welfare and Development Team in Romblon, in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and the Office of Senior Citizens Affair of Banton.
The Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program is a government initiative in the Philippines aimed at providing financial assistance to senior citizens who are considered indigent or in need. The primary objective of the program is to help indigent elderly individuals meet their basic needs, such as food, medicine, and other essentials, thereby improving their quality of life.
