Vice Mayor Diven Fos Dimaala of Odiongan has called on senior citizens to prioritize their health by taking advantage of local health centers for routine check-ups.
Speaking at the Senior Citizen Night event last Sunday, attended by a crowd of nearly 1,000 elderly residents, Dimaala announced his commitment to provide free laboratory tests and check-ups at Isiah Hospital and Medical Center.
“I am pledging up to P1,000 worth of laboratory tests for each of you here today,” he announced on his speech.
Dimaala highlighted the increasing cost of laboratory tests, which has made them inaccessible to some seniors.
He stressed the importance of proactive health monitoring, especially as individuals age, underscoring the significance of dietary choices in maintaining overall well-being.
Dimaala added that it is very important to monitor blood chemistry regularly to detect any abnormalities noting the potential risks associated with elevated levels of uric acid, cholesterol, and other indicators.
