The Department of Health (DOH) recently conducted a health caravan in the island municipality of Banton, Romblon in an effort to provide essential healthcare to remote communities.
Accompanied by a tuberculosis (TB) active case-finding team, the Romblon Persons with Disability Affairs Office, and the Calabarzon Dental Team, the DOH team traveled to Banton to deliver much-needed health services to its residents.
Approximately 450 patients received medical attention as part of the health caravan, which also included dental services. Additionally, hygiene kits were distributed to some patients to promote personal hygiene and cleanliness.
Moreover, amidst the health outreach, a seminar was organized to educate participants on various health topics. Discussions ranged from the Universal Health Care Law to raising awareness about tuberculosis and rabies prevention.
