The 83rd Regional Development Council (RDC) Full Council Meeting convened today, September 1, at the Heritage Hotel in Manila, with Romblon Governor Jose Riano leading the proceedings.
The meeting was marked by significant developments, with unanimous approval of a crucial resolution aimed at bolstering nutrition in the MIMAROPA region.
The RDC, a key body responsible for strategic development planning in the region, adopted a resolution that calls upon Local Government Units (LGUs) in MIMAROPA to provide the prescribed anthropometric measurement tools for the Operation Timbang Plus (OPT Plus) program.
Additionally, the resolution aims to enhance the capacity of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs) and members of OPT Plus.
OPT Plus is a national program in the Philippines that focuses on assessing the nutritional status of Filipinos, particularly children, to address malnutrition effectively.
The program relies on anthropometric measurements, such as height and weight, to determine nutritional health.
