A drunk tricycle driver was injured in a stabbing incident last Saturday night, March 27, at a drinking party in Barangay Lamao, Romblon, Romblon.
Police identified the victim as Librado Rubio Magada Jr., 35.
According to a police report from the Romblon Police Provincial Office, around 9:30 last night, the victim and the suspect, identified as John Lloyd Rubio, 21, were having a drinking spree together with several other men at the victim’s mother’s house.
Due to the effect of the intoxicating liquor, the victim intentionally pushed the motorcycle that was parked outside their house believed to be one of the motorcycles of the suspect’s companion.
This was followed by an altercation ensued between the suspect and the victim.
A few moments later, Rubio drew a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim on his back.
Rubio then fled to an unknown direction after the incident with the weapon used while Magada rushed to Romblon District Hospital for immediate medical attention.
The suspect was arrested by the personnel of Romblon Municipal Police Station following a hot pursuit operation. He is now under the custody of the police and a case of frustrated homicide is now being prepared by Romblon MPS against the suspect.
