The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Romblon on Friday reported that the province recorded ‘zero casualty’ related to the onslaught of typhoon “Tisoy” last December 03.
Ret. Col. Roseller Muros, Officer in Charge of Romblon’s PDRRMO, told the Philippine Information Agency – Romblon that municipalities were well-prepared and conducted preemptive evacuation of residents in areas vulnerable to flash floods, storm surge, and flash floods.
Data from the Romblon Police Provincial Office shows that about 8,968 individuals were already on the evacuation centers before the eye wall of the typhoon reaches the province.
The provincial government already sent food aids to residents of the town of Corcuera, Banton, and Concepcion were more than 3,500 houses were destroyed by the typhoon.
