The municipality of San Andres, Romblon officially launched its first-ever Tourism Expo and Festival, an initiative aimed at attracting more visitors and showcasing the town’s rich cultural heritage, local products, and natural attractions.
The 2025 Tourism Expo and Festival, which kicked off today, features agricultural products, handicrafts, and other locally made goods at various booths. Highlights include the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Hub and the Diskwento Caravan of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), where visitors can purchase high-quality goods at discounted prices.
To further add excitement to the event, local residents showcased their talents in singing and dancing performances, making the opening celebration even more vibrant.
Mayor Arsenio Gadon expressed his pride in witnessing the growing tourism efforts of San Andres, emphasizing that the event serves as a celebration of the town’s rich culture, history, and natural beauty.
“Bilang isang taga-San Andres, napakalaking karangalan na makitang patuloy nating pinapalakas ang turismo ng ating bayan. Ang kaganapang ito ay hindi lamang isang selebrasyon kundi pagpapakita ng yaman ng aming kultura, kasaysayan, at likas na kagandahan—mga bagay na dapat ipagmalaki at pagyamanin,” Gadon said.
The tourism expo will be open until Monday, March 24, inviting both locals and visitors to explore and support San Andres’ local industries and small businesses.
Through this initiative, the local government hopes to bolster tourism, create economic opportunities for residents, and promote San Andres as a must-visit destination in Romblon.
