The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) turned over fiberglass boats to fisherfolks of Corcuera, Simara Island, Romblon, on Tuesday during the town’s 94th Founding Anniversary.
BFAR Romblon Provincial Director Louie Manes said that 13 units of 27-footer Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic boats were given to LGU-identified fisherfolks, along with marine engines and a complete set of underwater fittings.
Romblon Governor Jose Riano, Vice Governor Arming Gutierrez, and officials of the local government unit of Corcuera attended the blessing ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture also turned over one unit of a corn hammer mill and one unit of a hand tractor to identified farmers’ associations in the municipality.
