The Romblon News Network (RNN) has garnered nominations at the 11th Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA), with Senior News Correspondent and Philippine Information Agency-Romblon Information Center Manager Paul Jaysent Fos making the shortlist for the Konsulta MD Impact and Innovation Award.
His impactful story, “Romblon Health Official Warns of Dengue Surge This Rainy Season,” secured him a spot among the nominees.
The 11th GMEA showcases exceptional storytelling that drives meaningful change, champions digital empowerment, and promotes sustainability. This year, the awards expanded to include Luzon’s provincial media alongside entries from the Visayas and Mindanao, highlighting diverse narratives across the country.
“Storytelling is a powerful tool that connects people, fosters understanding, and inspires action within communities. Through these awards, we honor individuals who demonstrate courage and innovation in shaping a more inclusive and progressive society,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe.
This year’s GMEA recognizes outstanding achievements across three divisions: Integrated Media, Digital Storytelling, and Special Awards. Guided by the theme “#IgnitingProgress,” the finalists were selected for their creativity, impact, and innovative use of digital media technologies.
