The grounds of Lumbang East National High School in Cajidiocan, Romblon, were submerged in floodwaters this morning following continuous heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon (Habagat).
According to school officials, they decided to send students home early after the local government canceled classes for the day.
In addition to the flooding, the heavy rains caused rivers to swell, damaging the town’s water supply valve and resulting in a temporary loss of water supply.
Despite reports of minor mudslides and rockfalls, Cajidiocan Mayor Marvin Greggy Ramos confirmed that all roads in the town remain passable for vehicles.
The local government continues to monitor weather conditions closely. (PJF)
