San Fernando, Romblon, has been recognized as one of the most competitive municipalities in the country, according to the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).
The award was presented on Friday during the Creative Cities and Municipalities Congress (CCMC) 2024, a one-day event designed to bring together municipalities, cities, and urban innovators and planners from across the Philippines to discuss and exchange best practices in leveraging creative resources for local economic development.
San Fernando ranked as the top 1 most competitive in Government Resiliency among local government units within the 3rd and 4th class municipalities category.
It is the only town in the province of Romblon to reach the top 3 of the index.
San Fernando Mayor Nanette Tansingco personally received the recognition.
