The members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) MIMAROPA were able to confiscate a total of P31,537,413.72 worth of illegal drugs from June 2022 to July 2024 through their intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the region.
This comprises 3,688.93 grams of shabu and 4,792.92 grams of marijuana.
Police Brigadier General Roger Quesada, Regional Director of PNP MIMAROPA, said that while this volume is lower compared to other regions, this also reflects that the illegal truck traffic in the area is lower.
(Our region’s accomplishment on illegal drugs is low in terms of volume compared to the other PROs. But even if it is low, it also means that fewer illicit drugs come into the MIMAROPA region.)
He attributed this to the PNP’s effective implementation of the peace and order situation in the region, in partnership with other law enforcement offices and the local government units.
Quesada added that the PNP will intensify its efforts in apprehending those who are involved in illegal drugs in the region.
(We are proud that small volumes of illegal drugs come into our area and we are working on apprehending those who are making and distributing illicit drugs.)
The PNP MIMAROPA has conducted 723 anti-drug operations in the region in the last two years and has arrested 833 drug personalities. (DSG/PIA MIMAROPA – Occidental Mindoro)
