The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – MIMAROPA has initiated the search for the most outstanding public markets in the five provinces of the MIMAROPA region.
This initiative is part of the Pamilihang Bayan ng Bidang Mamimili (PBBM), an advocacy program aimed at recognizing exemplary public markets in the region.
The PBBM, a pet project of DTI Oriental Mindoro, has been extended to other provinces in MIMAROPA.
Criteria for identifying the most outstanding public markets include compliance with various trade laws enforced by the government, such as providing discounts to senior citizens, refraining from selling non-compliant products, and ensuring all items for sale have proper price tags.
The regional winner of the search will receive P1 million worth of project from the department.
In Romblon, aside from identifying the most outstanding public market, DTI Romblon will also recognize consumer-friendly market vendors. This initiative highlights the DTI’s commitment to promoting fair trade practices and supporting consumer rights throughout the region.
