The Department of Education (DepEd) in Romblon will implement a contingency plan to address the scorching heat expected during the Romblon Provincial Athletic Meet in Cajidiocan, Romblon next week.
Schools Division Superintendent Roger Capa in an interview said that window hour will be implemented for outdoor games.
“We have a contingency plan for the hot weather. We will implement a window hour for games. There will be no matches from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for field games,” according to Capa.
He added that precautions have been put in place to ensure the safety of participants. DepEd Romblon has also provided reminders in the quarters on how to be cautious during the heat.
Medical staff from the Rural Health Unit of Cajidocan and DepEd will be deployed across the venue to assist as needed.
The Romblon Provincial Athletic Meet will start this coming April 9 wherein thousands of athletes from different towns are expected to participate.
