The Land Transportation Office (LTO) conducted a road safety caravan in the municipality of Alcantara in Romblon on February 15 and 16.
This initiative aims to emphasize the importance of road safety awareness of the general public and to educate drivers and road users on land transportation laws.
A total of 356 participants attended the two-day caravan, which sought to address the growing concerns over road safety not just in the municipality but also in the region.
LTO offered a free 15-hour theoretical driving course (TDC) to the participants with topics covering defensive driving techniques, first aid in traffic accidents, adherence to traffic rules and regulations, and the role of proper vehicle maintenance in ensuring road safety.
The agency also issued student driver permits to qualified applicants, with the goal of bringing the programs and services of the government closer to the grassroots level. (JJGS/PIA MIMAROPA)
