The Department of Agriculture’s Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) MIMAROPA successfully concluded its delivery of livelihood inputs to three farmers’ associations, benefiting a total of 100 members in Romblon.
The P2.1 million project, focusing on Lowland Rice Production, is part of the program’s commitment to supporting farmers in enhancing rice production across the country.
The selected beneficiaries include Gui-ob Farmers Association in Alcantara, Concepcion Sur Farmers and Fisherfolks Association in Santa Maria, and Bunsoran Rainfed and Integrated Farmers Association in Ferrol from Romblon. These associations were chosen based on the endorsement of the local government and their expressed need for interventions to reduce production costs.
The DA emphasized that Concepcion Sur in Santa Maria holds significance for the program as it is located in areas prioritized under the End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) initiative.
