The Mimaropa Regional Athletic Meet (MRAA) will be slated in Oriental Mindoro this 2024 after Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito A. Dolor bade during the recent Governor’s Night of MRAA 2023 in Romblon.
Relative to this, the Department of Education (DepEd) Undersecretary for Operations Atty. Revsee Escobedo accepted the governor’s bid and is scheduled to finalize talks in the coming months.
In his remarks during the MRAA 2023 opening, Dolor assured his support not only to his fellow Mindoreños but also to all delegates hailing from the provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. He also gave his heartfelt thanks to all the people behind this year’s event for making an event a successful one.
Aside from accepting Dolor’s proposal to make Oriental Mindoro the official venue of MRAA 2024, Escobedo also encouraged the governor to file his bid to also make Oriental Mindoro the official venue for the Palarong Pambansa 2027. Escobedo said it is expected that Luzon will be the host of said activity.
The undersecretary also noted that officials from the Mimaropa region showed their exemplary leadership, camaraderie, and teamwork during his brief stay, garnering his confidence that organizing a big event such as the Palarong Pambansa will be an easy task if key officials will work hand in hand.
