A farmer was injured in Barangay Jao-asan, Magdiwang, after he was stabbed by a fellow farmer last Maundy Thursday night using an 8-inches bread knife.
The victim was identified as Generoso Caspe, 54, while the suspect was identified as Rogel Rosas, 56.
According to a police report from Magdiwang Municipal Police Station, about 8:10 in the evening, the suspect who was under the influence of intoxicating liquor stoned the house of the victim several times.
Caspe went out and confronted the suspect, without much ado, Rosas, who is armed with a bread knife, stabbed the victim several times hitting his arms and abdomen.
The commotion stopped when their neighbors arrived. They disarmed the suspect and subdued him.
Meanwhile, they rushed the victim to Magdiwang Rural Health Unit for immediate medical attention but due to severe injuries inflicted, the Rural Health Officer decided to send him to Romblon District Hospital in Romblon, Romblon for more intensive medical attention.
The suspect is now under the custody of Magdiwang Municipal Police Station and an appropriate case will be filed against him.
