Ikinatuwa ni Climate Reality Project Philippines Branch Manager, Rodne Galicha ang balitang inalok ni President-elect Rodrigo Duterte si Environmentalist Gina Lopez bilang secretary ng Department of Environment and National Resources.
Sa facebook message na pinadala ni Galicha, sinabi nitong darating talaga ang pagbabago kung si Lopez ang naging DENR sec.
“Ms. Gina Lopez has been consistent in her advocacy against destructive mining, eco-tourism and sustainable livelihoods. For Romblon, she helped big time in making our islands known through media exposure and elevated our environmental concerns to higher authorities. Five years ago, we saw her visiting our small province and the rest is history. She can still be what she is whether in the government or in private sector.”, pahayag ni Galicha.
Dagdag pa niya, “If she finally accepts the position to lead DENR, change indeed is coming, however, there is a need to assess and address the business interests of her family. Being an alter-ego of the president is a tough job – familiarity of laws and policies is a must.”
“And I believe, she can do it with the help of the civil society and openness of the private sector and industries,” pahayag pa ni Galicha.
